During the time of the summer solstice, i was moving. I got in my car and drove 16 hours to a new place for a start at a new life and how beautifully exhausting that was, and how poignant.

I was awake for 36 hours from packing and driving, to unpacking and finally resting. I drove during the shortest night. At the peak of the sun's longest day, i witnessed all of its light and finally slept at its setting.

Because of this i was unable to participate in typical solstice activities, but the trip truly felt like its own ritual. In this sun cycle i am striving to honor this new start—to leave the past to itself and bring with me only that which serves to better.

Like, this is undeniably a good change in environment but i'm not used to being so surrounded by unfamiliarity so i'm just a little unsettled in general.
