Random Ponyboy Headcanons for his Birthday (+Moodboard)

Sometimes when Pony’s reading he will go into random positions and be too invested in the book to care if it hurts or not. His brothers would sometimes come home and see him half hanging off the couches or chairs reading or he would be lying underneath the table. Darry and Soda don’t even question it anymore.

Ponyboy hates bananas for no apparent reason. Add that onto the list with bologna.

Pony doesn’t just like to draw his friends and family, sometimes he’ll draw some plants and flowers

This motherfucker WILL yell at books and the characters when they’re being annoying. Sometimes he’ll read late at night and be muttering to himself and Soda gets so annoyed by it and Darry can sometimes hear him through the walls when he gets louder and bangs on the wall and tells him to shut his trap. When he does this in the living room he gets yelled at the most because he’s being annoying. Ponyboy finds them hypocritical for this because they’re all loud as well

He also does this sometimes during movies and everyone will tell him to shut up

He used to challenge the gang to a race just because he knows he’ll win and he wants the feeling of beating them. The gang began to pick up on the fact that he did this the most after he lost at some other game they were playing. He sometimes still does this

He will sneak around the kitchen at night and try to get a midnight snack. He will tip toe cartoon style

After arguing with people, specifically Darry, he will make faces behind their backs and mimic them silently because he’s a child

He has a lot of his parents' old shirts and clothes and will sleep in them a lot. One of the shirts is actually Darry’s and he didn’t realise for a long time. Darry’s been looking for that shirt for ages. When Ponyboy found out it was his he just kept it because it was funnier.

Has a habit of calling people “mean” and “very cruel” when they don’t let him do things he wants to do. Darry gets called this the most

As a kid he came up with the stupidest lies and excuses when he did something wrong like breaking something. Their dad was sometimes so amused at his stories that he stopped being mad about whatever Pony did

Loves to be annoying and constantly correct people’s grammar and spelling

He would “erm aktually” people

As a kid he though chocolate covered fruits were the greatest invention ever
