Anyway, hi! I’m your local unemployed queer disabled Boricua, and I need some help.
My life is such that working a regular job is basically impossible even without my disabilities. I’ve been unemployed since the beginning of the pandemic, and don’t qualify for most assistance programs because of my living situation and previous employment situations. I’m applying for disability, but let’s be honest – even if I do get approved, it won’t be enough to live off.
So I basically make a living (i guess?) off of the incredibly generous donations from followers and strangers alike on the internet.
I have an accumulative $1200 of bills each month. This doesn’t include housing, thanks to living with my best friends (you may know them, @renniequeer and @natalieironside ) – that’s my credit cards’ minimum payments (all of which have been maxed out and aren’t going down, thanks to just paying minimums and accruing interest), subscriptions to maintain photography work, groceries, and the car payment + car insurance, as well as all the medications that I need.
The car is the biggest priority, admittedly, as it is the only form of transportation for two households – it was 3 of them for a while but that’s no longer an issue, thankfully. The car is my primary contribution to the household, and it’s important for the lives of 6 disabled queers – the four in my house, and the two we’re helping out (our young kiddos, I refer to as Nibling and Crabling, if you’ve been around for a bit.).
“Okay, and? How would I even be able to help?” you ask.
Well, obviously the ideal way would be by pledging to my Patreon! I’m writing a serial novel titled HELLBOUND, and it’s about a nonbinary Latinx vampire! It’s very queer, very brown, and very anti-capitalist! I’d like to think it’s pretty good, but you can check it out for yourself. The first ten chapters are up for free! No pledging required. There’s more to come, and there’s extra content for patrons.
Income that I can count on each month and is in exchange for the content I create is my absolutely ideal way to make a living because I’m able to give you something back for your support.
But if that’s not particularly interesting to you, that’s totally cool, I understand! No hard feelings!! <3
If you want to help me out but aren’t interested in pledging, I have a few ways that folks can donate to me directly or buy stuff off my wishlists to help me out!
(That $1200 just pays bills. It doesn’t help me get new clothes, equipment, or things that I just really need/want.)
“What if I don’t have the money to support you at all though?”
That’s okay! If you can’t financially help me out, please don’t feel guilty! I completely understand, and I don’t want anyone to put themselves in a bad place because they’re trying to help me.
All I can ask is that you reblog this post. Liking doesn’t really help, but reblogs do!
This is my I Need Help Masterpost because I’m tired of making new e-begging posts after e-begging posts, and feeling shitty about it. Here’s my situation, and if you can help by either pledging, donating, or reblogging, these are all wonderful ways to help me out.
If you’ve read this whole post, or even if you didn’t but you reblogged, if you’ve donated or even if you didn’t, please know that I will never be able to thank everyone that has helped me and my family out enough. I appreciate every single reblog, every donation, every nice message and boost, that you have all given me since early 2020. I know it’s been a really hard time for everyone, not just us, and I am so incredibly lucky to have had your help, support, and kindness.
