Gordon would need a cane post-canon listen to me
As a disabled person who routinely uses a cane to walk, but does not depend on it 24/7, here is how Gordon would absolutely need a fucking cane post canon:
Prosthetic heavy, throws off balance
Trauma means disassociation sometimes, will randomly start to fall over sometimes
HEV suit was heavy as fuck when it didn't have power, and did actual damage to Gordon's body
Sleeping in the HEV suit caused actual damage to Gordon's body
Morphine kept him going the whole time, but he broke his leg at some point and it never properly healed because he kept USING IT
The biggest thing affecting him would be his upper back- he now has shrimp posture, but like, in a bad way. His shoulder blades will hurt if he uses his arms too much, and the pain can also extend to his hip region, which will affect his ability to walk.
Good days see him running around outside, bad days see him sitting down panting with his cane next to him because walking is both painful and difficult as his knees keep failing him.
If we go with the 'he broke his leg, but morphine allowed him to keep on pressing forth' idea, then his leg did NOT get a chance to set properly before it began healing, and either he needs medical attention VERY badly, or he's just going to have a fucked up leg. That's also going to add to the need for a cane.
Also canes can be used as weapons and I think Gordon would jump on that idea instantly because he has ✨trauma✨
