The curious thing is, the Hulk’s affection for Betty is, in most versions of the story, completely platonic. Bruce is the one who’s in love with her, Hulk is just protective of her because she’s nice to him. Same as with Rick or really anyone who shows him even the slightest bit of kindness. Or even just anything besides active hostility. He’s kinda just like that. Side effect to being constantly attacked and hurt to the point where you come to expect it from everybody you meet I guess.
