(And if you end up not coming back here, I'll call myself satisfied! There are way more important things than reading my silly intro haha)
What you can find on my blog:
I mostly post about queerness (especially aromanticism, asexuality, and pride flags/terms), neurodivergence, occasionally disability and mental health, or anything else pertaining to parts of me I don't have as much liberty to talk about irl!
Also, I've posted a few mid attempts at poetry, but I might feel like posting some new ones if I get the confidence.
Sometimes I reblog memes, and I make image descriptions when needed. If anything I post presents accessibility issues, please let me know!
I'd like to start posting more about other special interests I have too, but maybe they'd be more fitting for a separate blog (I have a langblr blog @spinning-on-language-learning !).
Under the cut, you can read details on me, my queer identity, how to address me, neurotype, special interests/hyperfixations, disability, mental health, religious and political views, languages, and some other random facts about me!
Basic info:
Name: going by Greeny or Greenie here.
Age: 22.
Nationality/ethnicity: Italian. Idk why some US Americans would ever have thought otherwise, but I am in fact white as mozzarella.
Occupation: university student.
Languages I speak: Italian (+Neapolitan; I consider it a language don't come at meā), English, plus a few others I'm studying but not yet fluent in (more info below).
Gender identity + modality:
Non-binary, genderfluid (specifically genderfruct/genderfroct), overall pangender; transandrogynous. I also like terms such as genderqueer, genderfuck, and especially gendervast and genderweird but I do not use the latter two with their actual definitions.
Gender expression + sex:
Expression-fluid (most often neutral and androgynous); endosex/perisex, altersex.
How to address me:
I'm demipronounfluid*. My static pronouns are the ones in my bio. Go wild with them; I like them switched up as much as possible!
I actually use virtually any non-themed neutral pronouns; you can find a full list+other terms of address here on my pronouny (plus how to address me in Italian), and also here on my pronouns.page (I also have a card in Polish, French, Spanish, Japanese, and Chinese).
*You might occasionally see me refer to myself with gendered terms/pronouns. I ask that you please do not mirror it; my comfort with them changes too fast to pin down!
Amative orientation
Aromantic, asexual (suptili-aroace, Bold Stripe Aroace, apothirose, aegorose), oriented aroace; asen-spec (asenflux, graysensual, demisensual); alloplatonic and alloaesthetic.
Interaction stances:
Romance- and sex-averse/repulsed, QPR- and friendship-favourable/desired, touch-ambivalent.
Affinitive orientation:
Omni (pan for platonic and sensual attraction) with a diamoric/sapphic lean. (I *personally* feel included by the term bi+, but I know ymmv).
Relationship orientation + related things:
Amoryflux (all the way from nonamorous to polyamorous, but ambiamorous most of the time), waverian/fluitic, queerplatonic, arolovic/loving aro, libidoist.
Related views: sex-positive; amatopunk, lovepunk, lovequeer (I experience love in a non-normative way and I also don't think love is what holds society together yk? It's overrated and often this belief is rooted in arophobia, aplphobia, and ableism).
(it's not like anyone needs to know every facet of my identity, but it's fun to share, and might be relevant to know what position I'm speaking from in a given discourse.)
Neurotype:
Late-diagnosed autistic (level 1/LSN), suspected ADHD (combined or inattentive type). Immersive daydreamer.
I like identity-first language; no "person with autism" please!
Also, I appreciate tone tags always, but they're not terribly necessary for me, so don't stress!
Special interests:
(Foreign) languages, pride flags, personal identity (queerness, neurodivergence), some videogames (Kirby, Undertale, Animal Crossing).
Recurring hyperfixations:
Alternative spirituality/religious views, outer space, disability, fandom culture, the latest cartoons I'm watching (currently MLB).
Mental health:
Handling depressionāI'm mostly recovered but I get relapses occasionally. I'm on meds.
Currently fighting against some pretty bad climacophobia and generally fear of falling (FOF).
On disability:
I consider myself disabled, not just from my AuDHD, but also from a chronic illness I have (POTS). I use a mobility aid for extra safety with my POTS and climacophobia/FOF (a cane specifically).
Religious views:
Atheist + naturalistic/scientific pantheist (yes the two things can coexist somehow; ask me about it if you're curious!). I consider myself Pagan given that I regard Nature as divine; I have also recently started researching the Roman pantheon as I am drawn to it allegorically.
Note: when I write "omd", instead of "omg" it's because I like the term "Divinity" instead of "God"; it also happens to be the way we'd say it in Italian (oh mio dio), but I mainly use it to distinguish my religious views from "mainstream" theismāand because it's more gender-neutral, which matches my perception better! The word also encompassed the concept of not a proper "divine being" like in theism, but the quality of "divinity" applied to the Universe as a whole.
Political views and related:
AntispeciesistāI've been vegan since August 2022, vegetarian for about 4 months prior;
I care about ecology a lot (that is half of the reason why I'm vegan);
Anti-GenAI for the above reason and because my sister is a professional artist, amongst other reasons (like the exploitation of people who live near or work in the big data centers);
Antiāfast fashion. Thrift your clothes at your local secondhand market, don't buy shitty clothes from Shein/TEMU/AliExpressāand on that note don't buy from Amazon! These companies exploit people esp. children from developing countries, their clothes/items are meant for short-term use and just pollute once they break down. They've also been proven to contain harmful substances. Vinted can be an affordable and sustainable alternative as it only shows you products closer to you. You can find all sorts of clothes and sizes for very cheap, in my experience. If you have more money, an alternative to Amazon/AliExpress for general trinkets is Etsy, which offsets all carbon emissions and, if you have a sharp eye out for mass-produced sellers, supports small businesses;
Obviously pro-Pal and anti-Zionist (NOT the same as antisemite!!! PLEASE for the love of Divinity don't be an antisemitic dick when you're opposing Zionism!! Jews are not Israel, and Israel is not the Jews, and to imply otherwise IS antisemitic idc);
Pro-choice;
Antinatalist (not super strictāI simply think people who can should adopt first; there's so many orphans that end up homeless by 18ā¦);
Proāinformed self-diagnosis of anythingāyou know yourself best, and doctors can be ignorant and discriminatory + getting an official diagnosis can be expensive, humiliating, or even risky sometimes (still don't be discouraged from seeking it if it's what you wantāgood doctors do exist and there *are* benefits to having a diagnosis obv);
Against misusing serious pathological terms casually, like "I'm so OCD" when you don't have OCD and want to say you're a neat freak, "they're so bipolar" when you mean someone has moodswings or changes their mind often, "are you a psycho?!" to mean "are you out of your mind", or "intrusive thoughts" to mean weird, random thoughts you have; I get that it's easier but it makes me very uncomfortable as someone who has had a long battle with actually distressing intrusive thoughts, is trying not to fall into a manic episode, and knows people with OCD and other serious mental health issues that should not be discussed lightly. Change your slang I promise it's not that hard. Don't be ableist!
Antiāblack humor, unless it is about yourself and things that affect you personally (even then, it makes me personally queasy especially jokes about suicide);
Against armchair diagnosing people you don't like (especially with cluster B personality disorders that have bad rep)āyou don't know what goes on in their head and you're probably pulling it out of your ass and causing harm cause you're not their therapist. Stress on "people you don't like"; if you suspect someone you care about might have something, and you want to help them deal with that, gentle nudging towards exploring that hypothesis is generally a good thing, imo;
On that note, I do not stand behind the use of the term "narcissistic abuse" as this specific wording is harmful. Just call it abuse, which it is! Not all narcissists are abusers, and to claim as such is ableist. Abusers are abusive because they choose to be dicks, they (or other people, inadvertently) don't get to justify it behind the fact they have a personality disorder. To call it simply abuse is to make sure responsibility for their abusive actions are not stripped from them.
On languages:
I can speak Neapolitan natively, but not really write it. In my defense there's no real agreed way to spell it though;
I have an English Cambridge C1 certificate. Working on improving;
Majored in Japanese and Chinese, but have since abandoned both. In the midst of that I picked up Polish via extra classes in uni, and now I will continue along that path! I'm also taking a LIS (Italian Sign Language) course;
I've studied, on and off, French and Spanish as well, but they're on hiatus currently. Hope to get back to Swahili too at some point, and definitely pick up PJM (Polish Sign Language) as soon as I'm fluent enough in Polish.
Other media I like, but which aren't proper SpIns/hypfixes:
Anime/Japanese media (One Piece, Cells at Work, Koisenu Futari, Studio Ghibli), western animation (MLB, Teen Titans, Steven Universe, Total Drama, Disney/Pixar/Dreamworks), sitcoms (Modern Family, The Good Place, The Office), any medical dramas.
Favourite musical artists:
Kero Kero Bonito, Kwiat JabÅoni, Itoki Hana, Toby Fox, Nirvana, Aretha Franklin, Linkin Park, MCR, Jack Stauber, Stromae, girl in red, Bo Burnham, The Narcissistic Cookbook, Coldplay, Sonbird, + anything Nintendo, Vocaloid, lo-fi, or jazz. (I used to love TĆP and P!ATD as well, the whole emo trifecta basically, but I don't support these artists anymore due to their racism and SA allegations, respectively.)
Extra:
Oxford comma lover. Sue me. /lh I also LOVE using em dashes, en dashes, and semicolons!
Yes I'm a termcollector/hoarder how did you knowā
I'm right-handed, but when I cut food, I keep my fork in my right hand and cut with my left. It just makes more sense to me idk!
Don't watch the new Harry Potter series!!!!! Don't give money and attention to the queen of FARTs (not TERF cause she's NOT a feminist)! Thank you!
