I really enjoy swap AUs of Kai and Nya! I was wondering what you think would change about their personalities, especially in this case with Nya being the older sibling and Kai being younger?

I've actually thought about this for a long time while drawing them both, and I can present a few ideas i have for now!
First of all, with Nya being the older sibling and the "responsible" one, I think she'd be more mature in character. She still has her temper ofcourse and her impatience, but as women tend to mature faster than men, she'd also act more "parent-like" to younger Kai.
As Nya is the master of fire here and one of the OG ninja, her battle against misogyny starts much earlier than in Canon. The ninja themselves were a little bit influenced by society, so she'd be set on trying to prove herself as someone more than just "the girl".
Kai in the meantime wouldn't have any problem fitting into the team after becoming the master of water, society immediately accepting him as if he was always there.
THAT makes Nya even more devastated, as she had worked HARD to prove her place in the team and as a hero of ninjago, while her brother got accepted just like that, because of his GENDER. I think that'll be a big key point to her character. She wouldn't necessarily hate Kai ofcourse, pushing the anger towards the people.
Now about how Nya would feel with the green ninja thing:
As Nya wishes to prove herself, she sees the green ninja title as a chance to make everyone recognize her once and for all. Kai in the meantime knows he has zero chances of being the green ninja, so he gets over it quickly, rather focusing on how he could be useful while not having an element. (Yet.)
Later on when Kai gets told he needs to learn the element of water, a power inherited from his mother, he FLIPS THE HELL OUT.
Kai still has his fear of water, and now being told that he's supposed to be the MASTER of it? He'd rather be samurai X for the rest of his LIFE
Kai has a hard time to get over his fear, but thinking on how he could help the ninja finally after being "useless" before (in his own standard), he forces the fear to the side. He hasn't gotten over it completely until much later, but to save possessed lloyd he was willing to let it slide.
Kai doesn't remember his parents, as he was literally two years old when they disappeared. Nya herself doesnt know what to think of it over the years. Did they abandon them? Did something happen to them?
Too difficult as to what of think of it and what to tell kai over the years, she simply avoided the topic. Kai felt how it was uncomfortable for Nya to talk about, so he kept silent about it too.
I think this is all for now, as the relationships with other ninja and future stuff can be explained in further posts. But if there's still anything left, don't be afraid to ask!
Where Kai doesnāt leave reunite with the rest of the ninja till the tournament of power.
Some major changes are:
Kai end up leaving the land of monsters with Daidan. So when they show up at the tournament of powers together.
Kai is also more centipede like. ( in this version it takes a little longer to rescue Daidan.
Nya is the one who makes her way back to monetary first. (She still ends up in the land of madness defending the Craglings, and since the bounty to Lloyd for help.)
The rest of the ninja believe that Kai died when they meet wildfire.
Zane and pixel wakes up earlier and Zane is the one who gets sacrificed.
During the tournament, Kai arrives late, (also doesnāt reveal himself right away for some plot point I canāt think of right away, so they donāt realize heās alive until after the tournament)
Optional: identities revealed, and he is the one who wins the tournament.
Suggestions for Kai not revealing himself immediately:
He's insecure about the bug thing so keeps himself covered up (Optional bonus- he does go to tell the Ninja but Things Keep Happening)
Kai finds Jay with Ras and is trying to convince him to leave Ras' team, but he knows Jay doesn't trust the Ninja due to Ras' lies, so he hides his identity so he doesn't scare Jay off
Itād be interesting if it were a mixture of both. Like the main reason being heās trying to get more information and get closer to Jay, but even after he revealed identity, he doesnāt like takeoff his mask or show the lower part of his face.
Instead of punishing Katniss, Peeta and Haymitch by sending tributes back into the arena. Preston Snow decides to center the 75th annual hunger games around Peeta and Katniss wedding.
The tributes would be chosen by the previous victors. (Instead of a drying, they would be given wedding invitations at the reaping).
The arena would be a forest similar to the 74th games, with a large meadow. With the cornucopia resembling a wedding gazebo. ļæ¼ the tribute arena outfits would be similar to how their portrayed in the sunrise on the reaping movie, almost like tactical wedding attire, beautiful, but you could still easily move in.
Animals in the arena would be similar to animals you would find in district 12s woods. Along with goats (that look a lot like the one prime ones), pigs (that look like the ones outside of Peterās family bakery) cats (that look like buttercup) ļæ¼
And the most dangerous thing that would be released in the arena as part of the climax or final battle, mockingjays.
Finally, at the end of the games, the Victor would be given a major role in Katniss and Peetas wedding (like ring, a bear or something).
(This was meant to be an extremely cruel punishment by Snow, to try and get it so people stop idealizing Kanis and more so view her as one of the people from the capital by relief framing this huge celebration for her and peeta. ) ļæ¼

Basically, the Previous avatar created an Academy to train vendors to help mediate Problems with evil spirits, As well as to train the next avatar. Teams of 4 (Composed of each bender).
