My useless headcanon is that Matsuda skips to work while everyone else follows in somber silence

It's crazy to me how LawMatsu (the ship betweem L and Matsuda) gets more recognition and fanart than MatsuLight (Light x Matsuda) because OMG IT MAKES ME SICK HOW NOBODY TALKS ABOUT THEM. Matsuda was YEARNING for Light throughout the entire series even after he died (overexageration, let me have this), after Light's death Matsuda literally created an entire conspiracy theory to prove Light was innocent and THEN it's confirmed Matsuda was fond of Light and he gives THE MOST DEPRESSED "I NEVER CONFESSED MY FEELINGS TO MY DEAD CRUSH" FACE EVER, not only that but Matsuda got a drinking problem BECAUSE of Light's death, its heavily implied since after having the conversation about Light he suggests him and his buddy go drinking only for his buddy to respond with "again?", I wanna cry I love and hate them so much. Also a really cool detail in the anime is how when Light is escaping in the last episode, Matsuda sees this and his eyes LIGHT UP, the next scene is him pointing it out but a part of me likes to think that his eyes lit up because he wanted Light to live, maybe he pointed it out because he wanted Light to get proper help? Again tying back to how Matsuda loves Light. And obviously Matsuda has been the one throughout the series to support Light and understand Kira.
